A ripper is a passive traction working device, typically mounted on the rear frame of self-propelled machinery such as graders, bulldozers, or tractors. Currently, there are two main types of rippers on the market: one with a simple rocker mechanism and the other with a parallelogram mechanism.
A ripper mainly consists of a ripper body, hydraulic cylinders, and hydraulic lines. During operation, under the traction of the main unit and the action of the hydraulic cylinders, the ripping teeth gradually descend to a certain depth below the ground surface. They then move forward with the main unit, loosening the soil. At the end of the operation, the ripping teeth are lifted off the ground by the hydraulic cylinders.
