A hydraulic breaker is a device used for breaking and crushing materials. Powered by pressurized hydraulic oil supplied by the pump station of an excavator or loader, it more effectively removes loose rocks and soil from rock crevices during the excavation of building foundations. The principle for selecting a hydraulic breaker is to choose the most suitable one based on the excavator model and the operating environment.
Hydraulic breakers have become an important tool for hydraulic excavators, and some also mount them on backhoe loaders (also known as double-ended loaders) or wheel loaders for crushing operations. Hydraulic breakers are also called hydraulic breakers or hydraulic rock breakers.
This term is commonly used in Japan and South Korea. They are also sometimes called hydraulic hammers, a term frequently used by companies in Finland and Germany. In my country, manufacturers and users refer to them as hydraulic breakers, hydraulic picks, hydraulic cannons, rock breakers, breaker heads, woodpeckers, etc. The Chinese national standard term is hydraulic impact breaker. Although the names vary, they all refer to the same machine. This machine uses hydrostatic pressure to drive a piston to reciprocate. During the piston's stroke, it strikes a chisel at high speed, which then crushes solids such as ore and concrete.
