Structure And Working Principle Of Hydraulic Crushing Pliers

Sep 13, 2026

Hydraulic concrete shredders mainly consist of four components: the shredder body, hydraulic cylinder, moving jaw, and fixed jaw. All models are equipped with rebar cutting blades.

Mounted on an excavator and powered by the excavator, the hydraulic shredder's moving and fixed jaws open and close, effectively shredding concrete and allowing the rebar within to be recycled. Its working principle involves applying pressure to the hydraulic cylinder through a hydraulic system, driving the moving and fixed jaws to open and close, generating significant pressure or shear force to shred the concrete. Concrete has high compressive strength but low tensile and shear strength. The hydraulic shredder crushes the concrete perpendicular to the rebar, breaking the bond between the concrete and the rebar, causing them to separate and allowing for effective rebar recovery. This process is also an effective method for secondary demolition (i.e., further shredding of concrete after initial demolition for loading and transportation).

In addition, there are rotary shredders equipped with power valves and capable of 360-degree hydraulic rotation to meet the needs of high-altitude and complex-angle operations.
